Artist; painter, designer
I wanted to be an artist since I was 11…or maybe a biologist, but artist won out.
My formal training began at duCret School of Art in NJ, but I soon decided that I wanted to pursue a degree, with the emphasis on broader fine art studies… Murray State University in Kentucky, 1973 with a BFA (Bachelors of Fine Arts) adding some graduate study at Indiana University at South Bend.
I have been pursuing a life with a paintbrush in my hand ever since. Along this creative path, I included scenic art for museum display and theater and worked with Atomic Design and Tait Towers in Pennsylvania as a freelance artist, before moving to NYC and joining the staff at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and later still, as Artist/Designer for Macy’s Santaland in Herald Square.
Proficient in most, I prefer painting with water-based media, at this time for speed and spontaneity. My practice regularly includes opportunities for Plein-Aire painting.
Every painting I complete, whether it takes on representational forms or manifests in abstraction, is always about the life force and the energy that surrounds and flows through us all.
